Dear Environment and Sustainability Committee,
Here are my
comments/requests on the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales)
Bill ( out for consultation at present.
- please include targets to reduce emissions of greenhouse
gases, since climate change is a major risk to future
generations
- please allow for the same level of well-being of future
generations in other countries in Wales policies ( e.g.
impact of Wales purchasing decisions ), so that Wales' well-being
is not achieved at the expense of others
- please
make sure the Bill is not just a list of worthy aims and broad
principles - it should be worded robustly enough to actually
make a difference to real planning
decisions.
- please explicitly set targets regarding :
- reversing biodiversity
loss
- reversing loss of Wales food-crop
pollinators
Thanks, Regards,
